Dramatic decor details - do you dare?

It seems like every home you enter today is full of stylish and elegant details. People are obsessed with perfect edges, perfect white surfaces, cohesion, and pastel colours. For some, this may be inspiring, but for others, it begs one question: when did interior design become so boring? Is that really all there is to decorate your home? Searching for endless perfection? In this age of uniformity, dare to be different. Dare to stand out with your quirky and dramatic décor that will leave anyone with a certain emotion.

Tiles as decor

We’re used to seeing plain tiles used as practical pieces of equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom, but it’s about time that changed. If you want to be daring and create a focal point in your bathroom or kitchen, you should use your tiles. There are more and more choices of tiles with specific patterns. This allows you to work a room like nothing before.

Your bathroom doesn’t need to be just one empty white room anymore. You can use tiles with one pattern for the walls, and tiles with another for the floor. This way, you’ve created a beautiful room without doing so much but putting the essentials in it. Bathrooms are the hardest to decorate as they need to be functional rather than beautiful, but with crazy tiles, you can do both. There won’t be any need to add more accessories and details when your tiles with daring patterns and colours have already tied the place together.

Think texture

Being daring comes down to more than just using different colours. Texture also plays a large part. Think about the small details in your living room. For example, the couch pillows. They’re all made of the same material, regardless of how much the pattern or colour differs. If you really want to make a daring change, mix the textures. The key to a good and daring design is to pay attention to the details, so start with the pillows.

Then, you can move on to furniture. Why do the sofa and the armchair have to be made out of the same texture? If you’re not sure how to differentiate textures, try feeling the piece you want to add to your living room. Some textures are obvious because the materials simply look different. Hands-On experience is by far the best way to make sure the texture truly is different, though.

Use your wallpaper

We all know that wallpaper is a god sent. It makes decorating much easier and allows you to choose from a lot more options than painting does. What’s more, it ends up being cheaper, lasts longer, and can be easily replaced. Most importantly, wallpaper can be used as your quirky detail.

Who’s to say you need to opt for beige or apricot or pastel blue? Go wild. Wallpaper decoration and installation is the ideal opportunity to wrap your home in an unorthodox pattern. Choose something with popping colours and outrages details. Positivity shines through a well-lit and bright space. Your wallpaper can be just the thing to bring out the light. Whether we’re talking about your living room or bedroom, the wallpaper will open it up completely. Some people even add fairy lights, making the whole space look even more magical.

Change your kitchen

Is there some unspoken rule that kitchens have to be covered in marble and that the cabinets need to be brown or white? Absolutely not. In that spirit, why not change up your kitchen entirely? You may think that having a colourful kitchen may be tacky, but if you pull off the design right, it can very well become the kitchen of your dreams.

If your kitchen has big windows and is fairly well-lit, you may want to be as bold to go for black as your main colour. Black is classy and stylish but also daring and eccentric. It’s the perfect contrast to show that kitchens can be awesome even if they’re not conventional. Another idea is to opt for something completely outrages like pink. Classical designs are overdone, let your imagination run free.

Conclusion

Being perfect is overrated. It pays off much more to be unique. After all, you only have one life, one home, and one chance to make it look extraordinary. Do you really want to miss your chance for greatness? Show your true colours, impress your guests, and see the world through different eyes; all because you dared to get out of your comfort zone.
