Simple Ways to Add Elegance to Your Bathroom

Upgrading the look of your bathroom doesn’t need to be a huge project. You can add elegance without having to put in too much effort. Small upgrades here and there will elevate the look and feel of your bathroom.

1. Install a Rain Shower Head

One simple, easy addition is to upgrade your shower head with a more elegant looking rain shower head. These more immersing shower heads are a great way to make your standard or glass shower look more upscale while giving you a more relaxing way to wake up.

There are different rain shower head designs that you can choose from that will fit your shower and your morning routine. Simple rain shower head designs will fit onto the same shower head attaching pipe that your original shower head comes off of.

If you want a more directly falling rain shower then you can adjust for the shower head to hang directly from the ceiling or purchase a shower arm extender to move the rain shower head further away from the wall.

Also some of these available rain shower head models offer an additional shower handheld attachment. This way you can use the handheld shower head for rinsing or for an easier way to spray down your shower while cleaning.

Depending on the design and layout of your bathroom, you might need to hire a contractor to move the water pipes for upgrades like these. A contractor will ensure the job is done properly so that you won’t have any leaks.

2. Use Containers

When you look in various magazines or online blogs you will see that most elegant bathrooms have well placed containers that not only keep clutter contained but also are pleasing to the eye.

Use glass containers to hold cotton balls, place toothbrushes in an easy to access tumbler and keep your soap in a dish instead of directly on the sink. You can also use containers on an open shelf to keep visible areas looking neat and well organized.

Don’t just stop at containers on your visible surfaces. Use more practical storage containers inside of your drawers and under the cabinets to help keep your bathroom supplies organized. If everything has a place then keeping clutter down is an easy task.

Bonus: Add elegant mirrors and wall fixtures for an elegant look and feel

3. Add in Well Placed Hooks

Keep hand towels off of your sink by having a well placed towel rack hanging close to your sink. You don’t want yourself or guests to have to drip across the floor while searching for a towel to dry hands.

It’s also a great idea to have hooks to hold your bathrobes, bath towels and a towel bar for decorative towels. This will help you keep your bathroom floor free from damp towels.

If you do not want to put too many nails into your bathroom walls then you can use durable command strips. This brand offers simple hooks as well as more expensive looking brushed metal hooks and some small shelves.

4. Update your Floor Mats

Bathroom floor mats can become dated and tired looking if you are using in the moment patterns and odd colors that demand a certain look to work. Swap out your bathmats with a simpler and cleaner single colored look to elevate your bathroom.

For bathroom mats in front of the vanity, where you will be spending a decent amount of time getting ready, think about using a cushioned floor mat. These mats are great for giving you comfort while standing in one place for long periods of time.

This is a great idea for men as well since they spend a considerable amount of time in front of the mirror shaving and keeping facial hair well groomed.

Anti-fatigue mats are not just a black thick rubber mat, there are many different color and patterned option available for you to choose from.

5. Treat Yourself to a Seat

A great way to add elegance to your bathroom is to bring in a place to sit while you are getting ready. Adding in a nice comfy chair can be the difference between perching quickly on the toilet to put on lotion and sitting back comfortable, resting after you apply lotion.

You can even take on the task of reupholstering a wingback chair to give your bathroom a pop of color or make it a one of a kind design.

Altho, not all bathrooms are large enough to house a good sized chair, but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t add a better place to sit while you are getting ready.

A wooden stool can have multiple uses, from offering a place to sit to holding a potted plant. This way you won’t have something taking up limited space all the time.

You can also choose a simple yet fun ottoman. A rounded ottoman will give you a comfy place to sit while getting ready and offer extra storage space for your bathroom must haves.

6. Purchase a Few Plants

Plants and flowers are a great way to boost your bathroom’s elegance without having to do much. The greenery will instantly breath life into the space while tastefully placed plants will add a new level of class to the area.

You can set a plant on a large vanity, between two sinks to draw the eye in or off to the side of a single sink vanity. If you have bare corners that you don’t want to fill with clutter then you can place a small table or plant stand and perch a potted plant atop it.

Certain plants like bamboo, orchids and peace lilies are great choices for the bathroom since they are low maintenance and do not require much sunlight to thrive. They are also smaller plants that will accent your space well without being too large and taking over.

Know that a simple and tidy bathroom alone will add an elegance. Match your colors and use accents to draw the eye where you want it to go with well placed plants or decor that stands out.
